Renee Alberts is back in town for a visit and damn if we’re not gonna have a reading to celebrate. Join us on Sunday September 2 at 8pm for readings by Renee, Jason Baldinger, Karla Lamb and Don Wentworth. This reading is free, just bring your bad self and pair of shoes to do some drinking in. Jason Baldinger is a poet hailing from Pittsburgh and recently finished a stint as writer in residence at the Osage Arts Community. He’s the author of several books, the most recent are This Useless Beauty (Alien Buddha Press), The Ugly Side of the Lake (Night Ballet Press) written with John Dorsey and the chaplet Fumbles Revelations (Grackle and Crow) which are available now. The collection Fragments of a Rainy Season (Six Gallery Press) and the split book with James Benger Little Fires Hiding (Spartan Press) are forthcoming. Karla Lamb is a Latina who’s work has appeared in Word Riot, Brooklyn-based A Women’s Thing Magazine, Pittsburgh Poetry Review, Pittsburgh City Paper, Runaway Hotel, and Voices from the Attic Vol. XIX so far. Lamb has an MFA in poetry from Carlow University’s Creative Writing program, and is currently working on her full length poetry manuscript. She has edited for After Happy Hour Review, and can usually be found collaborating with various artists and writers in Pittsburgh, PA.
Don Wentworth is a Pittsburgh-based poet whose work reflects his interest in the revelatory nature of brief, numinous moments in everyday life. He is the author of 3 full-length poetry collections published by Six Gallery Press, most recently ‘With a Deepening Presence’ (2016). His chapbook, ‘7 Ghazals & 7 Haiku’ (Grackle & Crow) was published this year. Two full length books of poetry are forthcoming: a collection of ghazals from Low Ghost Press and ‘an omen of oracles’ (Skylark Publishing), a collaborative tan-renga collection with British poet, Joy McCall.
